I had no problem with the install and most things work just fine, however, there are many little things that require expert tinkering to get it working right. XAMPP is a completely free, easy to install Apache distribution containing MySQL, PHP, and Perl. It should work for other configurations as well. The package includes the Apache web server, MySQL, PHP, Perl, a FTP server and phpMyAdmin. These instructions are for installing XAMPP 1.7.3 on Windows XP, Service Pack 3.

What i would like is to have this work on the same localhost as my joomla developments(using xampp 1.7.3) or have 2 servers on the same pc, XAMPP is a very easy to install Apache Distribution for Linux, Solaris, Windows, and Mac OS X. Ok here's the issue, each script is giving me the same error, every database user-name password and host-name,(and i have tried everything, including making new users, permissions and passwords) comes back with, an error like, user-name and password invalid, it can't be, they are the ones i make in phpmyadmin XAMPP 1.7.3 is installed in the /xampp folder. I have tried xampp 1.7.4, 1.7.3 and just tried an old version xampp 1.4.4 which gave did not seem to allow database passwords to be made, Others have clearly made them work, the problem seems to be compatibility.
